This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for May 31, 2025.

A COMMON TERN was at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB (letter of permission required for entry) on May 27.

The PACIFIC LOON at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas continued through May 24.

A COMMON LOON was at Quail Lake on May 24.

A WESTERN CATTLE EGRET was at Echo Park on May 24.

A PLUMBEOUS VIREO was at St. Andrew’s Abbey near Valyermo on May 25.

A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH and a SUMMER TANAGER were at Echo Park lake on May 31.

ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS were in Beverly Glen on May 27 and at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach  (south of the amphitheater) from May 27-29.
