Two TUNDRA SWANS continued at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB through December 14. A letter of permission is required for entry.
Three BLACK SCOTERS were off Dockweiler State Beach in El Segundo on December 17 south of Imperial Highway.
WHITE-WINGED DOVES continued at a residence in Redondo Beach through December 19 and at Sunnyside Cemetery in Long Beach through December 14.
An AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER was at White Point in San Pedro on December 18.
A NEOTROPIC CORMORANT continued at the Westlake Marina in Westlake Village through December 15.
A HAMMOND’S FLYCATCHER continued at the north end of Hopkins Wilderness Park in Redondo Beach through December 19. Another was at the Virginia Country Club in Long Beach on December 15.
An EASTERN PHOEBE was at Sycamore Canyon in Whittier on December 14. Gates open at 9:00AM. The bird was along the dirt road from the parking lot where it crosses over the stream.
Another EASTERN PHOEBE continued at Apollo Park in Lancaster through December 14. It was last seen near the east side fence line.
CASSIN’S VIREOS were found at Bull Creek Restoration Area in the Sepulveda Basin and at Hansen Dam on December 14 and at the South Coast Botanic Garden in Rolling Hills Estates (on the east side of the dry lake) on December 17.
A PACIFIC WREN continued in Big Santa Anita Canyon above Arcadia through December 14. It was between Cabin 37 and an adjacent small footbridge. Parking at Chantry Flat on weekends is very crowded and a Forest Adventure Pass must be displayed to park legally.
A GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was at Deane Dana Friendship Park in San Pedro on December 16. It was along Fowler Trail by the interpretive signs with the green awning.
A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was at Madrona Marsh in Torrance from December 14-17. It was on the west side, north of the drain willows.
A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was in Cheseboro Canyon on December 15. It was where main trail south of the main parking lot leaves the oaks and enters the meadow before re-joining main road.
The DARK-EYED “GRAY-HEADED” JUNCO continued at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena through December 14. It was last reported along the north edge of the lower parking lot adjacent to the athletic field.
A female ORCHARD ORIOLE was at Valley Sod Farms on December 14. It was seen briefly in the Van Nuys community garden center on Gothic Avenue between Chase and Napa.
A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Heartwell Park in Long Beach on December 14.
A male AMERICAN REDSTART was behind the Starbucks at Las Virgenes Road and Agoura Road in Calabasas on December 15.
The PAINTED REDSTART at Inglewood Park Cemetery continued through December 16 in an oak near the center of the property, south of the pond.
