This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for November 15, 2024.

An INCA DOVE was along the Los Angeles River in Elysian Valley on November 14.  Google Earth coordinates 34.0964, -118.2412

A WHITE-WINGED DOVE was at Malibu Lagoon on November 10.

An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER continued at Malibu Lagoon through November 11. 

The PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER continued in the Ballona area in Playa del Rey through November 13.  It associates with Black-bellied Plovers either along the creek above Pacific Ave. or on the adjacent salt pan.

A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL continued along the Los Angeles River at Downey Road through November 9.

A PACIFIC LOON was at Quail Lake near Gorman on November 11.

A ZONE-TAILED HAWK continued in Monrovia through November 11.

TROPICAL KINGBIRDS continued at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera through November 14 (east of the end of Mines Ave.).

The THICK-BILLED KINGBIRD in Griffith Park was seen through November 13.  Google Maps coordinates 34.1407, -118.2885.  It was also seen in the nearby golf course parking lot.

The EASTERN PHOEBE at Lake Lindero in Agoura Hills was seen through November 14 near the spillway.

A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was at the Ballona Creek mouth in Playa del Rey from November 12-14, west of the end of Pacific Ave. bridge on the jetty.

The DARK-EYED “PINK-SIDED” JUNCO continued in Sailboat Cove at Bonelli Regional Park through November 14.

WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were at the Ballona Freshwater Marsh in Playa del Rey on November 9 and at Descanso Gardens in La Canada on November 11.

A GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE continued along the West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail in Lakewood through November 10.

BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER continued at Madrona Marsh in Torrance through November 13.

A BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was at Peck Road Water Conservation Park in Arcadia on November 12 at the west end of the peninsula west of the parking lot.

The PAINTED REDSTART at San Dimas Canyon Park was seen by the restrooms near the entrance through November 13.

Another PAINTED REDSTART continued at a residence in West Los Angeles through November 11.

The SUMMER TANAGER continued in the Old Zoo area in Griffith Park through November 13.
